The bay The 200-yard walk to the bay is what makes Fenders so special. It faces north west and has a 2.5-mile-long shoreline, which has a picturesque narrow sandy beach, ideal for swimming (in season it has a safe buoyed off area) and paddle boarding, with clear turquoise waters, dramatic sunsets and far reaching views of Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Milford on Sea and Lymington on main land. It has a concrete seawall, groynes and 450-foot-long Victorian pier which is being developed.

There are no facilities at the bay, however after a 5-minute walk to Totland pier there are public toilets, and a further 15-minute walk will take you to Colewell Bay where there is an abundance of local ice creams.
